One of the easiest and most popular ways of communicating these ideals was through the extensive use of propaganda posters. Thousands of propaganda posters were produced during the Cultural Revolution. Depictions of industrial development, agricultural production and high profile figures deemed revolutionary heroes by the authorities were captured in vivid colors by skilled artists.
These eye catching posters were displayed in public buildings as well as private homes across the country. The political pressures that controlled the themes presented in art did not necessarily reduce the quality of the art. Propaganda posters from the Cultural Revolution were not only known for their high volume, but for their inventiveness and artistic skill as well.
