myLot Topics| Qing Dynasty | | Although the Manchus were not Han Chinese and were strongly resisted, especially in the south, they had assimilated a great deal of Chinese culture before conquering China Proper. They continued the Confucian court practices and temple rituals, over which the emperors had traditionally presided. The Manchus continued the Confucian civil service system. Although Chinese were barred from the highest offices, Chinese officials predominated over Manchu officeholders outside the capital, except in military positions. The NeoConfucianism philosophy, emphasizing the obedience of subject to ruler, was enforced as the state creed. The Manchu emperors also supported Chinese literary and historical projects of enormous scope; the survival of much of China's ancient literature is attributed to these projects.Ever suspicious of Han Chinese, the Qing rulers put into effect measures aimed at preventing the absorption of the Manchus into the dominant Han Chinese population. | | What Is the Goal of Driving Students to Perform in This Way, 6 | | My friend CrucifiedGuru asked me:http://www.mylot.com/CrucifiedGuru'It does sound like Chinese students are placed under a lot of pressure to perform certain duties, even those for which they may have no aptitude. I am thinking that this sort of pressure is on them through all of their school years, and that is sad to contemplate. Why it there so much pressure? What is the goal of driving students to perform in this way?'Thank you very much for your further question. It really helps me a lot and gives me good advice on how to continue my introduction. The primary cause is the world-largest population of China. Having gone through the World War II, the former Soviet Union lost a great number of young men and its population became very small. Over time Russia has never been known for its big population. But China is. Even during Qing Dynasty, China already possessed a population of 400,000,000. After the World War II, the Soviet Union encouraged people to procreate to relieve the population crisis. And China, though also losing lots of young men during the war, still has a large population. But at that time, because of the same ideology, China took after Russia in...

| | Do you know Han fu? | | Han fu is the traditional clothes of Han Chinese.
Han Chinese have kept to wear this kind of clothes for thousands years until Manchu occupied the whole China and establih Qing dynasty. Then, you know chinese began to wear cheong-sam and keep plait.
This is not the really cultrue of Han people, the main race of chinese people.
Years ago, some han people began to resume this almost vanished culture. They wear it as a semaphore for a culture awakening of old china. They pick up old classic of confucius,Lao tzu,and other great men of china.Because the China which once has been the richest country in the world comes from it.
Anyhow, this kind of cloths is beautiful.Much of the pepole wears it just for a show.
